Strong Password Generator

Pick a length (4–128) and lowercase, uppercase, digits and symbols to generate a random password. Every set you tick is guaranteed at least once, so sign-up rules won't reject it, and typing a password of your own points out weak spots like common words, years and keyboard runs.

Hash

MD5 is not included. Browsers don't offer it, and it should not be used for anything new.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is the password stored anywhere?

No. It's made in this browser, shown on screen and gone when you close the page.

    How long should it be?

With all four sets, around 13 characters usually reaches Very strong (80+ bits). The default of 20 is plenty.

    How is strength measured?

It estimates, in bits, how many guesses it would take. Human patterns — common words, repeats, sequences, years — count for little, and any found are listed below.
