About this tool
List what a group spent, item by item, and it works out who should send how much to whom. It handles one person covering the bill, items only some people shared, and uneven splits.
How to use it
- 1 List who was involved.
- 2 For each item, record what it cost, who paid and who shares it. Amounts can be typed as arithmetic or in words.
- 3 Take the result — arranged so the fewest transfers are needed — as a table, an image, a printout or CSV.
Good to know
- It does not move money — working out who owes whom is where it stops
Frequently asked questions
Can an item be shared by only some of the group?
Yes. You can pick who shares each item separately, so nobody ends up splitting a bar tab they did not drink from.
What does 'fewest transfers' mean?
When four people each owe each other a little, the naive answer is many transfers; rearranged, it usually settles in two or three. The result you see is the rearranged list.
How do I show the result to the group?
Downloading it as an image and dropping that into the group chat is quickest. If you need a record, download the CSV and open it in a spreadsheet.
