Open Office and Hangul (HWPX) documents without installing anything

or drop files here

DOCX · XLSX · PPTX · HWPX · TXT · CSV

The older Hangul format (.hwp) cannot be opened. In Hangul, use "Save as → HWPX" and it will open here.

About this tool

Open Hangul (HWPX), Word (DOCX), Excel (XLSX), PowerPoint (PPTX) and text files straight in the browser with nothing to install. Files are never uploaded — they are read inside this browser only.

How to use it

  1. 1 Drag the document onto the page, or pick it with the file chooser.
  2. 2 Paragraphs, tables, sheets and slides are laid out according to the format — spreadsheets by sheet, decks by slide.
  3. 3 Copy the part you need, or download the whole document as Word (DOCX) or text. Tables come across as tables.

Good to know

  • Binary .hwp (pre-2010 Hangul) will not open — re-save it as HWPX
  • Fonts, colors and layout are not reproduced — you get content and structure

Frequently asked questions

Is the file I open stored on a server?

They are not. Unpacking and reading the document both happen entirely inside this browser.

What is HWPX, and how do I tell whether my file is one?

HWPX is the current format for Hangul word-processor documents, with a .hwpx extension. Since May 2026 Korean central and local government bodies have been required to attach documents as HWPX, so files you receive from public institutions are usually this format. If the extension is .hwp, it is the older format and this tool will not open it.

Can I turn an HWPX I received into Word or PDF?

Yes. "Save as Word (DOCX)" gives you a file with the tables intact, and for PDF choose "Save as PDF" as the destination in Print. Conversion also happens in the browser, so the document never goes to a server. Fonts, colors and margins are not carried over exactly.
