About this tool
Check one by one whether the screen, touch, sound, vibration, sensors, camera and microphone actually work. Use it when a used device arrives, or to narrow down what is failing on one you suspect.
How to use it
- 1 Pick what you want to check.
- 2 Follow the on-screen prompt to touch or make a sound — the point is whether it actually responds.
- 3 Read the result for each item.
Good to know
- Battery health, internal components and water resistance are out of reach
- Anything the browser cannot access cannot be tested
Frequently asked questions
Why does it ask for camera or microphone permission?
Because the only way to know whether they work is to turn them on. The picture and sound stay on this device and are never transmitted anywhere.
How do I check for dead pixels?
Choose the item that fills the screen with a solid color and cycle through the colors. Turning the brightness up and going full screen makes them easier to spot.
Some items come out as 'not supported'.
It means this device or browser does not expose that feature to the browser. It does not mean the device is faulty.
