Compress a PDF to any size in KB

Bring a PDF under the size an upload form allows — 200KB, 100KB or any number you type. When you download, only the photos inside are reduced, one step at a time, until the file fits; text and shapes are left untouched, so you can still search and copy. You can also merge several PDFs and photos into one first and fit that.

Or drop PDFs or photos here

About this tool

How to use it

  1. 1 Choose the PDF to fit. If other PDFs or photos belong in the same file, add them too.
  2. 2 More options is already open with 200 in Max file size (KB). Change it to the limit the form gives you.
  3. 3 Press Download as one file. The photos are reduced until the file fits, and the final size appears when it's done.

Good to know

  • Shrinking only recompresses the photos inside — a text-only PDF barely gets smaller
  • Cannot set or remove passwords — a protected PDF will not open
  • Doesn’t edit the text or images on a page — it works page by page
  • Does not read text out of scanned pages (this is not OCR)

Frequently asked questions

What if the PDF won't get under the limit?

A PDF that is mostly text has few photos to shrink, so it may not reach the target. You'll see that it couldn't get under the target, along with the smallest size it reached. Removing pages you don't need in the Pages list makes it smaller.

Does Download each page separately fit every page to the limit?

Yes. Each page is saved as its own file, and every one is fitted under the limit. To fit the whole document as a single PDF, use Download as one file.

Do my documents leave my device?

No. Fitting the size happens inside this browser as well, so the files are never sent anywhere.
