Good to know

  • Loan interest uses the annual rate divided by 12. Lenders that charge daily interest can differ by a few cents per payment
  • Prepayment fees, grace periods and variable rates are not supported
  • BMI is not a reliable measure for children and teens, during pregnancy, or for very muscular people

Frequently asked questions

Which standard should I use?

WHO international cut-offs are used in most countries. Asia-Pacific cut-offs are lower (obesity from 25) and are used in East and South Asia.

Does muscle mass skew BMI?

It can. BMI looks only at height and weight and can't tell muscle from fat.

Is BMI valid for children?

No. Children and teens are assessed with age- and sex-specific growth charts.
